Providence

My son arrived home yesterday. He looked sharp in his navy blues, fit and healthy he cuts a fine figure of a man. He was originally supposed to fly from Chicago to Tucson via Denver. Last week my wife did not feel he had sufficient lay over time and rebooked his flight through Phoenix. Providence indeed.

Cowboy

2849_43819m.jpg

(Click for Source)

An old cowboy sat down at the Starbucks and ordered a cup of coffee. As he sat sipping his coffee, a young woman sat down next to him. She turned to the cowboy and asked, "Are you a real cowboy?" He replied, "Well, I've spent my whole life breaking colts, working cows, going to rodeos, fixing fences, pulling calves, bailing hay, doctoring calves, cleaning my barn, fixing flats, working on tractors, and feeding my dogs, so I guess I am a cowboy."

She said, "I'm a lesbian. I spend my whole day thinking about women. As soon as I get up in the morning, I think about women. When I shower, I think about women. When I watch TV, I think about women. I even think about women when I eat. It seems that everything makes me think of women." The two sat sipping in silence.

A little while later, a man sat down on the other side of the old cowboy and asked, "Are you a real cowboy?"

He replied, "I always thought I was, but I just found out that I'm a lesbian

A Christmas Story

This afternoon I took my family to a local dinner theater for the annual Christmas show. We met other friends and family there for a sold out performance. After the show the emcee took the stage and proceeded to point out members of the audience that were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. They were rewarded with an ice cream sunday. Then something amazing happened, the emcee mentioned the name of a young soldier in the front row that had just flown in from Iraq. The applause was immediate and sustained, the crowd went on for about three minutes when it turned into a standing ovation. The humble young man was obviously moved as were most in the crowd. When the applause finally died down the emcee was visibly shaken and thanked us for the fitting tribute. I feel much better about this great country today. I have to admit I was losing confidence in our resolve, not anymore.

Christmas Poem

Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
Why the Politically Correct Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a "Holiday."
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod,
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken and Fonda.
But as Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace.
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded.
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate "Winter Break" under your "Dream Tree"
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday,
Our Countries were founded under the Christian way
To our "guests" I can say,
If You don't like it, You don't have to stay!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Armed and Civilized

"A Nation of Cowards"

From a great essay by Jeffry Snyder:

"It is by no means obvious why it is "civilized" to permit oneself to fall easy prey to criminal violence, and to permit criminals to continue unobstructed in their evil ways. While it may be that a society in which crime is so rare that no one ever needs to carry a weapon is "civilized," a society that stigmatizes the carrying of weapons by the law-abiding -- because it distrusts its citizens more than it fears rapists, robbers, and murderers -- certainly cannot claim this distinction.
Perhaps the notion that defending oneself with lethal force is not "civilized" arises from the view that violence is always wrong, or the view that each human being is of such intrinsic worth that it is wrong to kill anyone under any circumstances. The necessary implication of these propositions, however, is that life is not worth defending. Far from being "civilized," the beliefs that counterviolence and killing are always wrong are an invitation to the spread of barbarism. Such beliefs announce loudly and clearly that those who do not respect the lives and property of others will rule over those who do.

In truth, one who believes it wrong to arm himself against criminal violence shows contempt of God's gift of life (or, in modern parlance, does not properly value himself), does not live up to his responsibilities to his family and community, and proclaims himself mentally and morally deficient, because he does not trust himself to behave responsibly. In truth, a state that deprives its law-abiding citizens of the means to effectively defend themselves is not civilized but barbarous, becoming an accomplice of murderers, rapists, and thugs and revealing its totalitarian nature by its tacit admission that the disorganized, random havoc created by criminals is far less a threat than are men and women who believe themselves free and independent, and act accordingly.

While gun control proponents and other advocates of a kinder, gentler society incessantly decry our "armed society," in truth we do not live in an armed society. We live in a society in which violent criminals and agents of the state habitually carry weapons, and in which many law-abiding citizens own firearms but do not go about armed. Department of Justice statistics indicate that 87 percent of all violent crimes occur outside the home. Essentially, although tens of millions own firearms, we are an unarmed society. "

Take the time and read the whole essay. It is from 1993, but it holds even more weight today.

Iraq Success Guide

cruisecredo.jpg

American Dinosaur's Ten step guide to success in Iraq

1. We vaporize the Iranian oil refineries, we lose 15% of the world's known oil reserves, but we send Ahmanutjob back to the seventh century where he aspires to be. Cut off the head the of the snake.

2. We tell the House of Saud to Knock their shit off or we turn Mecca into glow-in-the-dark tribute to Allah for the next 300 years, Tancredo style.

3.Secure the Syrian border by all means necessary.

4.Remove the MSM from the battlefield, remove the UN from New York, and remove political interference of the military objectives.

5.Trials for known enemies of the state for sedition and treason

6.Demonstrate the Blackjack Pershing method of Muslim moderation, dip our bullets in Pig's blood and set aside the sensitivies for the Victory celebration.

7.Clarify our position to the Iraqi government that we will leave after we win, at all costs if necessary. Including reducing the entire country to rubble. The "Sometimes you have to destroy the village to save it" method has merit.

8.No more talking, posturing or explaining. The only thing members of the "Religion of Death" understand is a position of strength and resolve, village by village, town by town, city by city. Time to drop the hammer.

9.Force the Domestic Surrender Monkeys to choose a side and persue them with the same religious fanaticism as our Muslim brothers do.

10. Leave the Middle East with the understanding that we cannot undo 5000 years of primitive barbarism with western values or sensibilites. If they behave like primates we must treat them like primates. Spend our future blood and treasure on our energy independence and leave the flea bitten shithole to the savages.

Iraq Surrender Guide

If you haven't read the Iraq Study Group report, all you need to know is in this passage:

RECOMMENDATION 5:
"The Support Group should consist of Iraq and all the states bordering Iraq, including Iran and Syria; the key regional states, including Egypt and the Gulf States; the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council; the European Union; and, of course, Iraq itself. Other countries for instance, Germany, Japan and South Korea—that might be willing to contribute to resolving political, diplomatic, and security problems affecting Iraq could also become members."

Is it just me or does this look like it was written by a high school kid the night before it was due? Look at the cast of characters recommended for participation in this international clusterfuck, it is all you need to know......

Forgetting Pearl Harbor

Forgetting Pearl Harbor Food for thought.......I was stuck in a dentist chair this afternoon patiently waiting to discuss my root canal with Dr. Mengele. PMSNBC was on with Chris Matthews, I thought he was gonna piss himself he was soooo happy and giddy with the possibility that the Iraq War was turning south. I do not know which was worse, Matthews or my sore tooth. I think the tide has turned, not the war, the fate of America. I am not sure we can weather the next crop of asshats coming in in January.

Jimmy Carter, Punked

First Jimmy Carter gets Owned on C-Span, then he gets
Punked Again when his aide Kenneth Stein was quoted as saying:

"President Carter's book on the Middle East, a title too inflammatory to even print, is not based on unvarnished analyses; it is replete with factual errors, copied materials not cited, superficialities, glaring omissions, and simply invented segments. Aside from the one-sided nature of the book, meant to provoke, there are recollections cited from meetings where I was the third person in the room, and my notes of those meetings show little similarity to points claimed in the book. Being a former President does not give one a unique privilege to invent information or to unpack it with cuts, deftly slanted to provide a particular outlook. Having little access to Arabic and Hebrew sources, I believe, clearly handicapped his understanding and analyses of how history has unfolded over the last decade. Falsehoods, if repeated often enough become meta-truths, and they then can become the erroneous baseline for shaping and reinforcing attitudes and for policy-making. The history and interpretation of the Arab-Israeli conflict is already drowning in half-truths, suppositions, and self-serving myths; more are not necessary. In due course, I shall detail these points and reflect on their origins."

Makes for a long week for Jimmy the Jackass!

Navy Blues

Michelle Malkin breaks down why the streets of San Francisco give our men and women in uniform the blues. Maybe it is time to move Fleet Week to less hostile waters. The local Moonbats call it the Counterrecruitment movement.

Navy in a Jam

"Continuing their crusade against the military, anti-war groups have asked San Francisco radio station KMEL-FM not to accept sponsorship from the Navy for its annual Summer Jam concert in Mountain View. Despite the fact that the Navy has sponsored the concert for at least 10 of its 19 years, these groups are demanding that it suddenly stop doing so now.

Their rationale is based on the ever-present canard that minorities are disproportionately recruited for the military. They claim that the station is "using hip-hop to promote the military to young people of color," as if the mere presence of a Navy booth at the concert offering young people another choice in life is evidence of a sinister agenda.

The fact that all recruits today, whatever their race, are volunteers seems to mean little to anti-war activists, who insist on portraying American soldiers either as victims or butchers, depending on the cause at hand. In this case, it's simply opposition to the war in Iraq. In a letter sent to Clear Channel, the company that owns KMEL as well as the liberal Air America, activists hysterically equated the Navy's sponsorship of the concert with promoting "the Bush administration's pro-war agenda." To them, any approach that doesn't automatically demonize the U.S. military is somehow amoral. "

More Troop Support:

"The Navy's Blue Death is scheduled the same weekend of 10/8-9/05 to once again terrorize San Francisco with its illegal low flights over heavily populated San Francisco, wasting tax dollars and oil, and making a horrific noise. As we all should know by now, the military does not exist to entertain anyone; it exists to murder the workers of the world so as to maximize the profits of the capitalist class. "

The end of JROTC victory celebration to be held on December 7th of all days

If they don't want us there lets move out and take all the money with us.

Quotable Quotes

“A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in … And how many want out. Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ 2. The American G. I. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.”

Tony Blair, when asked about his unwavering faith in America

"The men the American public admire most extravagantly are the most daring liars; the men they detest most violently are those who try to tell them the truth. "

H. L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)

"They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. "

Ben Franklin, 1755, to the Pennsylvania State Legislature

"I would remind you, that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And... moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue."

Barry Goldwater

"Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule--and both commonly succeed, and are right... The United States has never developed an aristocracy really disinterested or an intelligentsia really intelligent. Its history is simply a record of vacillations between two gangs of frauds."
