Who Ya Gonna Call?

The Police State Or The State Of The Police

I had an interesting conversation with a customer yesterday. They were building a storage room on the side of their building. It was to put their industrial air compressor inside. You see the last one they had was stolen a couple of weeks ago. This is no portable compressor it was a 120 gallon, three phase, five horsepower unit that weighed about 350 lbs.

Who the hell would or could steal one that big?

Well come to find out that a lady saw them do it. She called THESE GUYS and they could care less. She called 911 and the conversation went something like this:

Lady in the Apt.

Hello 911? Yes there seems to be three young men in a white Chevy S-10 pickup stealing a large air compressor from XXXXX Automotive at XXXX E. 22nd st.

911 Operator

OK. Hold on

Tucson Police Department

Can I help you?

Lady in the Apt.

Twenty Minutes later.............

TPD

The next morning............

TPD

Here is a police report for your insurance agent and a copy of the complaint.

Mr. Customer

Why didn't you come when they were stealing it?

TPD

We prefer not to have a face-to-face encounter that might result in an armed confrontation.

WTF?.............WTF?

Well ladies and gentlemen, I guess we are on our own. It is no wonder we are at the top of the list in crime stats here in the US. Unbelieveable! I had a similar scenario near my home when crackheads moved in under a bridge near my place. Three phonecalls and 25 days later I was finally told that they would not remove them because they had been sued so many times by homeless advocates that they would not touch them. I was told in an off hand way that I should do " Whatever I had to do" to remove them myself. No shit and not funny. This is not an actual transcript of the conversations but you get the idea.

The Police are too busy setting up traffic cameras to bust us for running red lights than going after the scumbags that might not go quietly. We are on are own............

Crack heads under a bridge...

Pray for a flash flood! ;)

I guess traffic violators are safe enough people that they feel comfortable stopping them. Or do they just send them a ticket in the mail to avoid confrontation?

If anyone besides you had written this, I would have chalked it up as an urban myth. Geez...

I think the thin to tell to the 911-dispatchers is, "Don't worry, I've got a gun and I'm heading over to stop them myself." That'll get them to respond!

Gotta love our TPD. The only way to get those bastards moving is the suggestion above. Tell them you got a gun and you're willing to stop the crime yourself.

It's worked with TPD before - I've witnessed it firsthand.
