As of 1:30 pm on 1-27-06 I have joined the ranks of Navy dads. My son Nathan has joined the Navy and will ship out this fall. I am so proud of the young man, he will be a great addition to America's armed forces. Congratulations son!
He Looked at the Coast Guard but......
It's natural to be proud when our children make good choices. My oldest son left for bootcamp on his 19th birthday. That was a dozen years ago, and I still remember the conflicting emotions. It's a bittersweet thing when our kids grow up, but it helps a lot when they make it easy to be proud of them. Go Navy!

We did a rally this past Saturday, read it about it on my blog http://saynototheleft.blogspot.com/2006/01/rally-report.html
Starting Feb 11th, it will be a regular thing, if you can join us, would love to have you.

Congrats...although my brother served four years in the Coast Guard, I'll take that picture in stride. LOL!
Posted by: Bullseye at January 31, 2006 10:20 PMGod bless your boy and bring him home safely.
I think it is when our children undertake such adventures, that we learn the true meaning of prayer.
God bless you too BullyBud.
Congratulations. The Coast Guard, although not exactly the same thing, would have been a good choice as well. As a constant fisherman (you never know when you will need their help) I have a great appreciation for them.
