Troop Support PSA

I have not blogged much lately as I have not wanted to post about about many of the topics parroted on so many of the blogs. I find most of the news depressing and tedious. However I would like to take a moment to ask all of you to get involved and really support the troops.

My wife and kids and I have used Books For Soldiers for several years now. If you are not sure where or how to help it is a great place to start. For a comprehensive place, try Soldiers Angels as well.

Imagine if all those detractors and so called "We support the troops just not the War" people really did support the troops? What a great thing that would be.

I was going through our files and just to show you what one family can do, here are a few stats about the care packages my family has sent so far:

ARMY..........29
MARINES......7
AIR FORCE...2

AFGHANISTAN..........6
KOSOVO..................2
IRAQ......................30

I am not asking for credit or applause. I just want to do what I can to bring a little of America and home to those who watch our back. There is a dangerous and evil trend building by those who put party and politics ahead of country. We must show those in uniform that we are behind them 100% and for the entire duration of their service.

Good effort BillyBudd.

I've got to agree, Soldiers Angels is a fantastic organisation. I'll have to check out books for soldiers too. Thanks for the tip.

Thank you for the link, and for all you do to support our troops.

If anyone's looking for a nice way to help a Hero, I've got a post up about a Soldier in Afghanistan who contacted Soldiers' Angels for items to help the kids there - True Heroes
